Well, I've joined the pitcher making craze! These little things are addictive! You can't just make one. I made the first 3 and my 11 yr old made the other 3. We had so much fun!

Now as to my blog. I know I am a bad blogger!! I tend to read more than I post. Life has got in the way lately and I have not had time to work on my house. I just look at it and feel sad :-( I am almost done with some other commitments , then hopefully I can work on it soon :-)

I'm so excited! I got a very special letter in the mail on Saturday. All the way from Tasmania, Australia! A while back, I ooohed and awwwed over the little mail that Linda Carswell at Une Petite Folie makes. She said I just might get a "surprise" package in the mail one day! Just look at the cute little mail! Little postcards, pictures and envelopes. I turned one over so you could see she even folded then like a real envelope! Thank you so much Linda!

On another note... does anyone know how to separate blogs that are followed? I want to put them by types- like minis, decorating, etc. I saw this on a blog and now I can't find it again. Any help would be great!

Hi all!! Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! My mom, dad and aunt came over for dinner. We even had an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. It was a beautiful day.

Since I have joined the "blogger" crowd, I have noticed several of you do swaps. All of the blogs I follow are done by wonderfully creative people! I see beautiful items every day. I am (although very slowly) working on my house. Now that the holidays and some other commitments are over, I should have time to work on it. I want to fill my house with handmade, unique items. So how do I go about it? I would like to swap with , say about 5 people. Are they suposed to be surprise swaps? Or does it get discussed before hand? If you would like to arrange a swap with me,or know the proper etiquette, please contact me.

On another note.......
I have not had good manners in welcoming my followers. I have noticed this is done on other blogs. I can't believe I have 45! I know you all are waiting for me to get busy on the house! I am sure trying! I want to so bad! I work full time and have a 9 year old and a soon to be 2 year old. So, life is busy!

Thanks to Taenia and Nikki! I was following Taenia's directions and about to give up, then somehow I did it!! I also added a Christmas playlist full of Christmas music. Now we will see if I can figure it out again after Christmas or we may have Christmas year long!! That may not be a bad thing though!

HELP!!! Need blog layout help

I want to change my background to a Christmas one and I can't remember how to do it!! I remember how to add the gadgets, but how do I change the background? I thought I should go to "Layout" but that didn't work. I read that I will loose the one I have so to download it to my harddrive. I did that. So does that mean can just copy that code later and add again to go back to the way I was? So can anyone help?

Question about distressing things, hummm....

I need some help on distressing items. I have never really done it and I LOVE that look!!! To me, it makes the items look more realistic!! I know some of you are pros! I have seen your work on your blogs. So, I am asking for help. If I want an item white with some dark showing through, do I paint a dark color, then white and then sand some off? How do you get items to look dirty?What about rusted?

The house is built!!!! There are just a few things to add, like the steps. But, my friend said he had to stop or the olny thing I would have to do would be to put furniture in it! So, now the fun begins!! I am going to try and make myself take it slow . It is going to be hard I know. I will just have to take it room by room like Linda of Une Petite Folie. So, what shall I name it?

I don't post very often. I just end up reading and looking at everyone elses blogs! Then I have so many ideas going through my head, but I can't stop reading because I am afraid I'll miss something! I am trying to talk my husband into letting me quit my job so I will have more time to actually do projects. He hasn't agreed yet LOL! Well, I can say someone has been busy! My neighbor and father of my daughters best friend had a surprise for me. After I finally got the book by Lea, he saw it and was really amazed by it. He asked if he could borrow it to look at and maybe translate some of it for me (he has had some French in the past and has French-Creole relatives) Anyway, I was at his house on Monday and he showed me what he was up to. He is making me the house from Lea's book!!!! He does wood working and when he saw the house it looked interesting to make. I couldn't believe it!! I am so excited!! I had him take a few pictures for me of it so far. He is moving right along on it. I better get busy on getting my supplies to start working on the exterior and interior trim.

Need ideas... Witch Shop

My daughter and I want to make a Witches Shop. Here is the room box we are going to use. I am going to get the blue wallpaper out and find something witchy. We need ides though. Both for the exterior and the interior. Should I put siding on the outside? Or some kind of stone finish?And for the door I was thinking about a dark orange or deep red that is distressed looking. So any ideas, pictures or web sites would greatly be appreciated to get our creative juices flowing! Thanks!

Just wanted to show a cute Scottie Dog cookie jar I got from BlueKittyMiniatures on Etsy. I wrote a while back asking if she ever made a Scottie dog and she said she might try. Well, she made one and he turned out so cute! He even comes with some cookies! I have asked her to make me a White Scottie jar next.

Well, I got the wire mesh screen painted gold and put it in where the glass was. I think it looks pretty good! I am now working on making the items to go in it. I have some perfume, hat and toiletries boxes that I am making. As soon as I have enough put together, I will put them in the cabinet for you to see. :-)

First item for the ladies shop......

I am starting to gather items for my ladies shop. I am going to make a roombox full of beautiful, very feminine ladies items. Like hats, jewelry, toiletries, etc. This is the first piece I am working on. I got the idea from Susan of " Heirlooms by Susan" I removed to glass from the doors and I will replace them with wire screen that I am painting gold. It will have a very "french" look.

Hope everyone had a nice 4th. My mom and dad recently bought a camping trailer. They took it this weekend to "The Lazy Acres" campsite in Elberta, Alabama. They stayed for 3 days and took my oldest daughter, Haley, with them. I went and Sat. the 4th and took little Ella. This was her first time"camping". I use the word camping lightly, since we hardly roughed it in a trailer that sleeps 6 and has a kitchen, bath, tv and most important-A/C!! The campground owners had activities lined up. Haley met some little friends. The firworks were pretty good too! Here are a few pics. The "Camp Store". The resident pig , didn't get his name. And Haley with her lizard and showing it to Ella.
